Mahender Singh Verma is the Chief Engineer at Hotel De L’Annapurna since June 2000. He has a working experience of 14 years, 12 of which he has spent with the Taj Group of Hotels. He has worked at The Taj Mahal, New Delhi; the Taj Ganges, Varanasi; Hotel Chandela, Khajuraho; and is now at Hotel De L’Annapurna. Mr. Verma’s major contributions have been to install new systems and to upgrade/replace old ones.

Rajesh Man Singh is the Managing Director of Eco Tours & Travels. He worked for about five years with Eco Tourist Service before setting up his own company. Besides English, he can speak Thai, Japanese and Russian. Mr. Singh has travelled widely in Southeast Asia and believes that travel and tourism is not only a business but also an alibi to meet different kinds of people and make friends.

Umesh Shrestha has been promoted to Assistant Manager, Ticket Office and Reservations of Thai Airways International, Kathmandu. A Science graduate from Tribhuvan University, he joined Thai on March 1, 1980 as a Traffic Officer at the airport, and has worked in different capacities at the city office after being transferred there in 1981. Mr. Shrestha is extensively travelled.

Ranjana Karthak is currently the Senior Supervisor at Thai Airways International’s city office in Kathmandu. She began her career with Thai as a ground handling staff at the airport. Later, she was transferred to the city office where she progressed through various tiers of advancements and responsibilities before being promoted to her present position. Widely travelled, Ms. Karthak completed her 25th year at Thai on August 1, 2000.

Bimal Sen Thakuri is the Manager-Sales & Marketing at United Parcel Service. He has been in the courier business for almost three years. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from H.N.B.G. University, India, and has also completed the basic course conducted by Multi Modal Transport Organization & Logistics Association Nepal. Prior to taking up his present assignment, Mr. Thakuri worked in sales and marketing for five years for the Nepothene group of industries.

Deepak Manandhar is the Senior Supervisor at Thai Airways’ city office, Kathmandu. He has been with Thai for the last 20 years, and his hard work and diligence have earned him his present promotion. He started his career in the tourism industry working at RS Concern, the GSA for Air France, in 1976 before joining Thai in 1980. Mr. Manandhar says that working at full capacity is his pride.

Nevidita Thapa is the Account Manager, Sales & Marketing at the Radisson Hotel Kathmandu. She is a graduate in Education from NEHU University in Shillong, India, and has also undergone sales training in Calcutta. Prior to joining Radisson, Ms. Thapa worked as an air hostess with the then Everest Air, Instructor Hostess and PR at Garud Air and as an instructor (sales and marketing) at the now renamed Hotel Management and Tourism Training Center.

Maandavee Basnet is the Account Manager, Sales & Marketing at the Radisson Hotel Kathmandu. A graduate in Business Administration from Tribhuvan University, she also holds a Diploma in Hotel Management from the Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management, Salzburg, Austria. Ms. Basnet has undergone various trainings and has travelled widely.
