Welcome aboard Royal Nepal Airlines. This page contains important information about the aircraft and its safety features. We also request you to study the safety instructions placed in the seat pocket in front of you.
For your personal safety
The following items are not permitted for use during take-off and landing in order to avoid possible interference with aircraft electronic systems: computer, cellular phone, CD player and other electronic equipment. The use of portable electronic devices is prohibited at all times on any Royal Nepal Airlines flight.
Seat belt
Please keep your seat belt fastened during take-off and landing. It is recommended that you keep it fastened at all times when you are seated in case of turbulence. On landing, please remain seated until the aircraft has come to a complete stop at the terminal and the “Fasten Seat Belt” sign has been turned off.
Smoking
Cigarette smoking is permitted only on the Kathmandu-Osaka sector. All other flights are non-smoking. Please do not smoke while the plane is on the ground, during take-off and landing or when the “No Smoking” sign is illuminated. Please refrain from smoking in the toilets and in the aisles. Cigar or pipe smoking is strictly prohibited at any time.
Bon appetit
Menus aboard our flights are developed to reflect fresh and healthy cuisine. We serve vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian food keeping in mind passenger preferences. A complimentary bar service is also available. You can request a wide variety of special meals for medical, dietary or religious reasons when making the reservation.
Carry-on baggage
Every passenger, except infants, is allowed one piece of hand baggage suitable for placing in the closed rack or under the seat in front without extra charge. For security and safety reasons, its dimensions must not be larger than 20” x 15” x 10”.
The following additional items are also permitted: one small size handbag/purse, one coat or cape or blanket, one umbrella or walking stick, one pair of crutches and one small camera or binoculars. An infant’s carrying basket or invalid’s wheelchair, which are transported free of charge, will normally be carried in the cargo hold.
Unaccompanied minors
If you have children who are travelling alone, we will ensure he/she is under constant care. A request has to be made at the time of the reservation. The unaccompanied minor will be taken care of by our special handling unit. The guardian can hand over the unaccompanied minor to the ground staff along with the necessary documents. The ground staff will do the needful and once the child boards the plane, he/she will be taken care of by the cabin crew. Once the aircraft reaches the destination, our ground staff will take over the child and hand him/her over to the receiving guardian after examining the documents properly.
Dangerous goods
For
safety reasons, dangerous goods such as those listed below must not be carried
in passengers’ baggage: briefcases and attache cases with installed alarm
devices, compressed gases, corrosives, etiologic agents, explosives,
munitions, fireworks, flammable liquids and solids, radioactive materials,
oxidizing materials or poisons. Medicines and toiletries in limited quantities
which are necessary or appropriate for the passenger during the journey such
as hair sprays, perfumes and medicines containing alcohol may be carried. (For
